Privacy
We are a small home bakery, not a data company. This page explains in plain language what personal information we collect, why we need it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to delete.
When you place an order
Ordering happens on WhatsApp. To bake and deliver an order we usually need your name, the recipient's name if it is a gift, a phone number we can reach you on, the delivery address or a Google Maps location link, and the date you need it. We use those details to prepare, confirm and deliver that order, and to talk to you about it.
Who else sees them. When we send an order out, we pass the recipient's name, phone number and address to the delivery partner carrying it — usually Porter or Uber Parcel. They need it to find the door. We do not sell your details to anyone, and we do not share them with advertisers.
How long we keep them. Your order conversation stays in our WhatsApp history. We do not routinely delete old chats, so assume it is kept until you ask us otherwise — and if you do ask, we will delete the conversation and the details in it.
About WhatsApp itself. The conversation lives on WhatsApp, which is run by Meta and covered by their terms as well as ours. We use it because it is where our customers already are, but we do not control it.
Offers and other messages
From time to time we message past customers about seasonal bakes or offers. If you would rather we did not, tell us — reply "stop" to any message, or send us a note — and we will take you off that list. It will not affect any order you place afterwards, and we will not ask you to justify it.
Payment
Payment is arranged in the same WhatsApp conversation, usually by UPI or bank transfer, and we see the confirmation you send us. We never ask for and never store card numbers, CVV codes, UPI PINs or banking passwords. If anyone claiming to be us asks you for a PIN or an OTP, it is not us — please tell us.
When you visit this website
There are no cookies. We do not set any, which is why you will not find a cookie banner here — there would be nothing to consent to. There is also nothing to sign up for and no form to fill in, so browsing alone tells us nothing about who you are.
Visitor numbers. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without following anyone between websites. It tells us how many people came, which pages they read, roughly which country they were in and what kind of device they used. Cloudflare keeps that for about three months.
What people tap and search. We count two things ourselves: when someone taps an "Order on WhatsApp" button, and what people type into the menu's search box. For each we record the time, the page or product, the country, and — for a search — the words typed. No IP address is stored and nothing ties these records to a person; they exist so we can see which bakes people want and what they look for but cannot find. They are deleted automatically after 100 days.
Things loaded from other companies
Two parts of this site are served by Google, so your browser contacts Google to load them and Google receives your IP address even if you never click anything:
- Fonts. Our typefaces load from Google Fonts on every page.
- The map. The homepage carries an embedded Google Map showing where the kitchen is. Google may set its own cookies inside that map.
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and some parts run on Cloudflare. Like any web host, both keep basic request logs. If you click through to WhatsApp, Instagram or Google Maps you leave this site, and that company's own privacy terms take over.
What you can ask us to do
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — and under the GDPR if you are in the UK or the EU — you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it
- stop sending you offers
- stop using information you had previously agreed to us using
Ask on WhatsApp or by email and we will do it. There is no charge and we will not make it difficult. If you are unhappy with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local data protection authority if you are in the UK or the EU.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle personal information — for example if we add online payments, or website analytics that use cookies — we will update this page and change the date at the top. Anything that needs your consent will ask for it at the time, rather than being buried here.
